There has been a new camera in the market for quite some time called the GoPro which is small and portable. The GoPro Hero shoots in HD and gives out the best quality you can get in such a compact camera but there is one biggest thing this device lacks in which is the battery life. I personally own the GoPro Hero3 and been using it for numerous shoots like music videos, vlogs and interviews and I always seem to have problem replacing the battery during the middle of the shoots. But Photographyandcinema came up with CagePro for the GoPro.
CagePro powers your Hero3 through the standard LP-E6 Battery that comes with the Canon DSLR’s. Now I know you are probably wondering how much life you will get using the standard battery with the CagePro, with a single Canon LP-E6 battery can provide more than 5 hours of run time on a single charge so with this much amount of time you can take advantage of the GoPro3 by using it for long video shoots or a full day of Time-Lapse shoots.
I was able to record up to 4 hours of HD video on a single 64gb microSD card so the last thing I ever needed to worry about was the battery life. When I did use the GoPro LCD BatteryPac that reduced the time down to literally close to 30 mins due to the amount of battery the GoPro drains out. So I think with the CagePro I can do video shoots for longer amount of time without worrying about replacing the battery and not having to take out the LCD BatteryPac which I use all the time.
This is one device I am really gonna need and I am going to try to get my hands on the CagePro and test it and do my thoughts on this device. Please check out the CagePro for the GoPro Hero3 at Photographyandcinema
